the Rotary Morimondo in Upper Bavaria to seal the triple alliance Rotary Italy – France – Germany
[Article by Silvia Lodi Pasini Published on Settegiorni] – Trip to Upper Bavaria for the Rotary of Morimondo, which in the last weekend returned the visit that last year had seen it organize at home the contact meeting with the two sister clubs with which it has entered into a triple European alliance in 2023: Rotary club Maisons-Alfort – Est de Paris Créteil – Còteaux Briards and the Rotary club Mühldorf-Waldkraiburg.
The spirit underlying the triple twinning is to testify to the desire for peace between the peoples of the world and consolidate friendly relations between the countries of Europe. Leading the Italian delegation was President Davide Carnevali, welcomed in the charming Bavarian town of Mühldorf, home of the German twin, by President Susanne Rothkopf, who also welcomed the French twins led by President Christine Valla. “This meeting is the living expression of Rotarian friendship which no longer exists only on paper: Our friendship has found concrete expression in real meetings, common projects and intimate conversations” said the hostess Susanne Rothkop, who also recalled the history that has united for 48 years the Mühldorf-Waldkraiburg club, founded in 1978, and the one in Paris, which was then called Rc Creteil-Val de Marne, which two years ago Morimondo joined. "Every year we meet and every time new ideas, new connections and new common projects are born. What unites us is not just Rotary, but the attitude that underlies this belonging: commitment can overcome borders and diversity means strength when we come together". The president of the French rotary club Christine Valla echoed her: "We Rotarians know how to demonstrate that our differences are a resource that makes us move in the same direction: temperance, listening to others and working together make us grow". “The twinning we celebrate is the proves that friendship, cooperation and shared vision can overcome any distance – said Davide Carnevali -. Our role as Rotarians is to safeguard and promote the values of respect, dialogue and peace. We are an organization founded on the person, on the value of service and on the concrete desire to do good in the world. The triple twinning is a powerful act of cultural resistance against isolation and indifference, and demonstrates that a more humane world is possible if everyone does their part." Carnevali in particular thanked president Susanne Rothkop for joining Morimondo's End Polio Now project, and also anticipated to the twins the Global Grant that the Italian club is planning to implement in collaboration with the clubs of the Principality of Monaco and that of Bethlehem: to support the children's hospital premature babies of the Order of Malta in Bethlehem, Palestine.
