Rotary and Rise Against Hunger together against hunger – 10/12/2025

Cremona once again hosted a high-impact initiative against world hunger, thanks to the collaboration between Rotary District 2050 and the Rise Against Hunger organization. Last December 10, on the occasion of the Saint Lucia holiday, around 300 volunteers including Rotarians, families and children from Cremona, Brescia, Piacenza, Pavia and Milan joined together to prepare meals for a village in Zimbabwe, which will guarantee food and education for 187 children for an entire school year. Naturally, the RC Morimondo Abbazia was also present with a large representation.  Annalisa Balestreri, Governor of District 2050, expressed her satisfaction with the extraordinary participation and the importance of this initiative which not only offers food, but encourages schooling and protects children from the streets and exploitation. The event also underlined the human and social value of the project, which combines the right to study, the protection of childhood and lasting growth. This act of solidarity, which involves volunteers directly in preparing meals, has a particular meaning during the Christmas period, strengthening the bond between Rotary and Rise Against Hunger, and bringing renewed hope to those in need.
