UNTOLD – Tales of hidden lives: an evening of mystery and emotion

On Wednesday, September 23, at the headquarters of the Morimondo Abbey Rotary Club, an evening full of suspense, emotions and moments of intense emotion took place
The protagonist of the meeting was Francesco De Venuto, a well-known podcaster, who was able to capture the attention of the numerous members and guests present with the story of his project "UNTOLD – Tales of hidden lives".
The speaker retraced the origins of a passion born almost by chance: exploring abandoned buildings, from private homes to old factories, up to former asylums, silent places that hold traces of a distant past.
Over time, however, his interest shifted from objects and environments to the more deeply human dimension of these places. Not only walls, rooms and material memories, but above all the lives of the people who had inhabited them, with their stories, their feelings and their destinies.
From this research, a narrative project was born, shared with another person who cultivates the same passion. Together, they began to reconstruct forgotten events, transforming them into stories capable of giving voice back to those who, too often, have remained in the shadows.
Stories thus take shape through podcasts, becoming precious testimonies of existences that deserve to be remembered.
During the evening, De Venuto read one of these stories with great emotional participation, accompanying the story with images of letters and agendas that inspired its reconstruction and reinforced its authenticity.
His interpretation, intense and engaging, alternated moments of suspense with passages of deep emotion, dragging the audience on a journey through time and memory.
The speaker's emotion was conveyed to those present, who followed the story with keen interest and participation.
At the end of the meeting, the numerous questions and the different comments testified to how much the stories narrated had been able to touch the sensitivity of the participants.
An evening that reminded everyone how, behind every abandoned place, extraordinary lives and fragments of humanity can be hidden to be rediscovered, so that no life is forgotten and no history remains forever voiceless.
