Rotary Club Morimondo Abbey

[Article by Silvia Lodi Pasini published in "Settegiorni"]  – The thirteenth birthday of the Morimondo Abbazia Rotary Club took place in the lush green countryside in the heart of the Ticino Park, which last Saturday celebrated in style at the Tenuta Cambiaga in Robecco Sul Naviglio. President Martina Forti chose this location to offer her members and friends an important context that would enhance the 13th anniversary of the birth of Morimondo Abbazia, born on 26 March 2013 on the initiative, among others, of the late "bersagliere" Ambrogio Locatelli. It was a party with a rich parterre des rois and a notable and qualified participation which says a lot about the esteem, appreciation and friendship that the club has been able to earn in the exercise of service activities and in the collaborative relationships established with all the clubs of District 2050 of which it is part. "I am proud to preside over this club and I thank all my predecessors for having brought it this far – said president Forti -. For us, even the birthday is an opportunity to do good and in fact the proceeds from this evening are donated to Stop TB Italia: an association committed to fighting tuberculosis in Italy and abroad, which was founded in 2004 as the Italian partner of the Stop TB Partnership in Geneva and in 2008 became ODV". Present at the evening for Stop TB Italia, Dr. Giorgio Besozzi, who explained how almost nine million new cases of tuberculosis are registered every year and how, although it is a disease treatable, 3,800 people die of tuberculosis every day in the world. To support the Besozzi association, the Morimondo Abbazia Rotary Club raised two thousand euros, which President Forti symbolically handed over to Dr. Besozzi on the occasion of the birthday party.
