Pararotary Olympics 2026: a celebration of sport and inclusion – 30/05/2026

The seventh edition of the Pararotarylimpiade represented a moment of great human and sporting value, marking an important turning point thanks to the new host venue of the San Giovanni Bosco Oratory in Abbiategrasso. The initiative, promoted by the Rotary and Rotaract Club Morimondo Abbazia in collaboration with the Rotary Club Vigevano Castello, confirmed its role as an event dedicated to the inclusion and valorization of Paralympic sport.

The event involved numerous athletes, volunteers, students and local sports associations, offering a morning full of activities. Basketball, rugby, athletics, bowls, football, tennis and other disciplines animated the spaces of the oratory, encouraging meetings between people with different abilities and demonstrating how sport can break down every barrier.

A particularly significant moment was the presence of Giusy Versace, Paralympic athlete and senator of the Republic, invited as testimonial of the event. In his speech he shared his personal experience, recalling how the Paralympic movement has made enormous progress in recent years, both from a sporting and cultural point of view.

Giusy Versace underlined the importance of looking at Paralympic athletes simply as athletes, without labels or prejudices. He also recalled the value of the example offered by figures such as Alex Zanardi, a symbol of resilience, courage and determination. According to the senator, true victory does not just consist in reaching a goal, but in not giving up in the face of difficulties and in knowing how to face the path with enthusiasm.

The event also saw the participation of local institutions, which wanted to demonstrate their closeness to the issues of inclusion and equal opportunities. The awarding of medals to all participants concluded a morning characterized by enthusiasm, friendship and sharing.
